The Black Man is not a menace to society but my Brother. A man who caters to his sisters and exudes chivalry and respect; a man who stands up for his sister when necessary and supports in her time of need. My Friend.
The Black Man is not a rolling stone but my Father. A man who takes accountability for his actions and takes on the responsibility to raise his young; a man who loves his daughter and will be by her side in her time of need. My Caregiver.
The Black Man is not a savage but my Lover. A man who touches her in the most sensual way; a man who makes her feel like a woman. A man who isn't afraid of vulnerability and romanticism. A man who will love her unconditionally and be by her side in her time of need. The Love of My Life.
The Black Man is not tasteless but my Style Influencer who doesn't shy away from flamboyancy. A man who is confident in his sexuality and doesn't allow negative perceptions to divert his character. He wears white tees, denim jeans, bow ties, and three piece suits. And he wears them well.
The Black Man is my friend, my caregiver, my style influencer and the love of my life.
This third installment of Jumping Colors, MAN, was implemented to celebrate the Black man as well as his whimsical style. I collaborated with designer, Elshadei Fantahun, and used the trilogy as a platform to advertise his creative, elegant neckwear line, Elegant Erkél. Elegant Erkél specializes in bow ties and ties for the confident man; allowing an expression of personal style as well as professionalism. Original photography was completed by Olushola Bashorun and all edits were completed by myself. Official images of the Luxy Portfolio are here.
