"Where Grace meets Spunk & Ambition"
As you all know, the overall goal of amandaluxe is to market myself as a creative director and photo editor. So, when brand strategist/co-founder of MiM Connect/big homie, Bianca Jeanty, requested my creative services for the content of her newly launched site, I got charged up.
As far as brand positioning for Bianca Jeanty dot com, Ms. Jeanty wants her audience to recognize her as a multimedia professional providing clients personally-driven content regarding networking and lifestyle topics. She's a dynamic young Black woman with multifaceted interests. She's quirky, driven, spontaneous, and poised. My favorite quality of hers is her fun personality. She has to be one of the funniest women I have had the pleasure of meeting since moving to New York City a year ago.
With all of this in mind, I wanted the creative direction of this shoot to embody a business conservative aesthetic with a flare of eclecticism. The goal was to execute a wardrobe direction of "femininity with a masculine twist" with an outfit encompassing a high collared shirt with masculine tailoring in her hunter green suiting. I added a cobalt blue Marc by Marc Jacobs messenger bag and a pair of tomato red pumps to portray the "spunk" that is Bianca Jeanty. The shoot took place in the Flatiron District off of 23rd Street and Broadway. Working alongside the visionary and rising photographer, Jarrod Donnell "JD" Anderson, was an absolute pleasure and I believe we had great creative synergy. While JD's edits are deeply contrasted, I wanted to go a different route. With guidance from my photo editing mentor, in my edits, I focused on warming temperatures, enhancing the vibrance, and brightening the hues in primary colors.
